The downloaded e-Aadhaar card can serve as proof for both official and unofficial purposes and is valid across the country. It also has the same validity as the original physical copy. Once the Aadhaar number is issued, individuals can follow various steps (given below) for downloading their Aadhaar card online.

Download e-Aadhaar card using Mobile Phone Number OTP:

  1. Go to the UIDAI portal.
  2. Under the 'My Aadhaar' tab, click on 'Download Aadhaar'.
  3. Choose 'Aadhaar Number' in the 'I Have' section.
  4. Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number.
  5. Provide the captcha code and click on 'Send OTP'.
  6. Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number.
  7. Complete the survey if prompted, then click on 'Verify and Download' to save and print your downloaded Aadhaar card.
  1. Visit an official Aadhaar centre or any listed centre like a bank or post office.
  2. Bring along identity proof, such as a PAN card, for verification.

Download e-Aadhaar card using Name and Date of Birth:

  1. Visit the official UIDAI portal.
  2. Click on the 'My Aadhaar' option in the top menu on the homepage.
  3. Under 'My Aadhaar', navigate to the 'Aadhaar Services' sub-menu.
  4. Select 'Retrieve Lost or Forgotten EID/UID'.
  5. You will be redirected to a new web page where you need to fill in your personal details.
  6. Choose either the 'Aadhaar No. (UID)' or 'Enrolment ID (EID)' option, based on your requirement.
  7. Fill in the required fields with your full name and the registered mobile phone number or email address.
  8. Complete the Captcha Verification by entering the characters displayed in the picture, then click on the 'Send OTP' button.
  9. A One Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your registered mobile number.
  10. Enter the OTP in the provided field and click on the 'Verify and Download' button.
  11. Once the OTP is verified, your e-Aadhaar will be downloaded.

Download e-Aadhaar card using Enrolment ID:

  1. Go to the official UIDAI portal.
  2. Click on 'Download Aadhaar' under the 'My Aadhaar' tab.
  3. You will be redirected to eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.
  4. Enter your 14-digit enrolment ID and the 14-digit timestamp from your enrollment slip.
  5. Provide the pin code and your full name as mentioned in the Aadhaar application.
  6. Click on 'Request OTP' to receive the OTP on your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP.
  7. Click on 'Download Aadhaar' to access and save your Aadhaar card.

Download e-Aadhaar card using Virtual ID (VID):

  1. Go to the official UIDAI portal.
  2. Click on 'Download Aadhaar' under the 'My Aadhaar' tab.
  3. Choose 'Virtual ID (VID)' in the 'I Have' section.
  4. Fill in your pin code, virtual ID, full name, and security code in the provided spaces.
  5. Click on 'Send OTP' to receive the OTP on your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP.
  6. You can now view your e-Aadhaar. Note that you might need to enter your Aadhaar card password.
  7. The Aadhaar card password consists of the first four letters of your name in capital letters and your birth year.

Download e-Aadhaar card using mAadhaar App:

  1. Install the mAadhaar app and log in after downloading it from either the IOS Store or Google Play Store.
  2. If your current mobile number is already linked to your Aadhaar during enrollment, simply enter the same mobile number.
  3. The app will automatically read the OTP received via text message.
  4. Click on the "Download Aadhaar" button.
  5. Choose between downloading a regular Aadhaar Card or a masked version.
  6. Select the desired option and verify yourself with another OTP.
  7. Click on the provided link to download your Aadhaar Card.

Download e-Aadhaar card using Digilocker App:

  1. Begin by downloading the Digilocker application and signing in.
  2. After completing the first step, choose UIDAI as the organization from the list of partners in Digilocker to download your Aadhaar Card.

  4. Enter your Aadhaar number and click on "proceed." An OTP will be sent to the mobile number registered during the Aadhaar Card application process. Enter the OTP to continue.

  6. You can then use this digitally-authenticated soft copy of your Aadhaar Card for various purposes.

Download e-Aadhaar card using Umang App:

  1. Download the UMANG app and complete the registration process using your mobile number or Aadhaar card details.
  2. Once registered, you will find a button labeled "Download Aadhaar through Digilocker" on your screen.
  3. Clicking on the button will redirect you to the Digilocker app. If you don't have the app installed, UMANG will guide you to download it from the app store.
  4. Once installed, follow the steps mentioned in the previous section to download your e-Aadhaar.

Open and print password protected e-Aadhaar card PDF:

  1. The downloaded Aadhaar Card is in PDF format and password-protected due to its sensitive nature containing personal information. The password is an alphanumeric code formed by the first four alphabets of your first name followed by your birth year in full.
  2. For example, If your name is Vishal Jain and your birth year is 1982, the password will be VISH1982. You will need a PDF reader application to view the document.
  3. Once you have entered the password and unlocked the digital copy of your e-Aadhaar Card, you may find a "Print Document" button on the screen, depending on your application.
  4. Select the number of copies you want to print and click on "Print."
  5. Make sure your device is connected to a printer for the successful printing process.
